What Is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a way of learning how to relate directly to your life. It’s a way of taking charge of your life and doing something for yourself – no one else can do it for you or tell you exactly how to do it.
Fortunately it isn’t something that you ‘have to get’. You already have it within you; it is simple a matter of being present, fully aware of what is happening in the present moment.

Put simply, mindfulness consists of
• cultivating awareness of our mind and body, and
• living in the here and now.

We can miss so much of our lives if we are consumed with anticipating the future or ruminating about the past. Developing our mindfulness skills can help us be present to what is happening ‘now’.
